We believe that the gospel defines our life in God. The gospel is the good news that through our faith in the atoning work of Christ on the cross, we are assured of God’s full acceptance and love since He does not see us according to our performance but according to what Christ has done for us - thus, the gospel motivates us from acceptance, not towards it. This is the basis of our intimacy with God and our power for true transformation.
We believe that God intended the church community to reveal the power of the gospel. In a culture where relationships are built primarily on similarity and affinity, we aspire to be a community that only exists because of the gospel. In a gospel-revealing community, the love and commitment we experience transcends all natural bonds based on ethnic, cultural, ideological, generational factors—it is a community that exists because of our commonality in Christ.
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative Word of God that directs our lives. It is what shapes the heart and mind, affecting every aspect of our being, so that we experience life the way it was meant to be lived. In a culture where truth is relative and divine mandates are ridiculed, we will stand on the solid rock of Scripture without apology or compromise, for all other ground is sinking sand.
We as followers of Jesus pursue his vision of family through our deep and mutual commitment, interdependence, and affection
We believe that the church is not sent on a mission by God – rather, God is on a mission and the church is called to join Him. The mission of God in this world is to extend His kingdom by making disciples and we as the redeemed are called to participate in that mission. We will do this by declaring boldly and demonstrating tangibly the power of the gospel in our community and in the world.
